My inspiration for surface pattern design started…

a long time ago when a fellow nurse taught me to quilt. One thing led to another and I really liked hand work, particularly, wool applique’. It started out with a quilt for my parent’s 50th wedding anniversary when I realized I had a pattern to follow but wanted to make my own designs. One thing led to another and I designed another quilt and the rest is sort of history. I really love creating things for the home with my designs but the labor intensity of it had me thinking about going back to my roots and just starting with drawing and keeping a sketchbook. That led me to learning about surface pattern design. But it is hard to put down the needle and thread….so I keep designing little things for the home. You can find my patterns on my Etsy shop. I definitely aim to have a shop here…but being a one man band has it’s limitations! Projects here in the gallery that have a pattern will link you to my Etsy shop.
